12/12/2016 (written) The last week of the November 2015, I saw my going-to-be wife for the first time. Before that I had not seen her anywhere (either on Facebook or in real). The headmaster of my lower secondary school played a role to mediate between boy’s and girl’s side. He knew both parties very well, so we believed what he told about the other side. Before that, my father’s sister and even my sister brought some proposals. They said “okey, this is a very good proposal for my brother. The girl is up brought in a good culture (family background) and has good sch...

My Dad, My Inspiration

Image
Granny and Dad                                           Dad and Mom Fathers day special. I exactly do not know when I started knowing my dad or when I started to call him Dad. Like everybody, I have my own story with my dad along with my two brothers. My dad became dad of 6 children. Sometimes he looked to be furious and wanted us to be frightened, but now I know now it was for our good purpose. For a long time, I did not like my dad because he wanted to send me (us) school compulsively; he wanted me (us) to do my (our) homework compulsively and he always lectured me (us) to become a good member of the society. Since I know my dad, we spent a long span of time together till now. When me and my brothers were studying at the beginning classes, dad took us always to the scho...

Congratulations Naba Prabhat Sewa Samaj

When I was trying to pay for something we had eaten, Navaraj Uncle said: it’s free for you. Instead of this, we want to take a help for the club building of Naba Prabhat Sewa Samaj. I just smiled because we were doing some little little help to the students for their study. You can call it the scholarship program. "I will try for that", I quickly answered. Khuna Magar, Netra Thapa, Bhuban Thapa and some others were there. "We are so hopeful", uncle said from backside as I was leaving there. After that, we got help from Geertje Van de Rijdt (Holland) and later Nadja Meulemans became ready to support financially. You may start now, I said to Khuna Magar. His team searched the suitable place and began to dig the land for the base of the building. Bed Bahadur Thapa and his son Eak Bahadur Thapa of Nibuwatar agreed to offer a piece of land in the name of Madan Thapa, son of Eak Bahadur Thapa who died about 5 years ago in an acciden...

Facebook: Positive or Negative Drug?

Image
Spending a couple of days without Facebook is being horrific to the people who are used to this social media. The trend of people is developing on concentrating on adding more and more friends and getting more and more likes and comments. After all, it has become a part of life. Then how do you manage time for Facebook and the rest of the things altogether? Most people use it while they are in class, working in an office, waiting for a bus or train, party, or any leisure. Due to the widespread technology of the android system, the number of Facebook users is growing radically.   So it's the right time to discuss is Facebook a positive or negative drug? Image: www.ndtv.com In April 25, 2015, there was a big hit earthquake in Nepal. So many destroy were made by it along with around 10000 human lives. Soon, the message spread all over the world, and people donated for food and shelter. People got a huge relief supported by people abroad. Facebook became you...

Hike to Jamacho Gompa/Nagarjun Hike

Image
Namaste to all. Happy Valentine Day, 2016. Yesterday, 13th of December. Two months ago, it was our wedding day. It was Sunday but yesterday was Saturday. We discussed how to make our holiday memorable. I asked her if we could go on hiking to Nagarjun hill. She asked how long it would be? 3-4 hours one way. "Oh My God! I can't do that" was her response when she heard about it. I tried to make her agree with the day hiking to Jamacho Gumba, which is located at the top of the hill. She was in dilemma and nodded with a "yes" answer. Wow, the deal was done. Sandhya likes salty and spicy things. Here, it is difficult to find a lady, who does not like such food items. Even the men. On the way before hiking, we bought cookies, Kurkure, and water. Then we walked about 15 minutes to the entry point. I bought two entry permits because the hill lies in the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park. They also wrote down our details and put my id card. Then our hike began. Fro...

How Easy the Situation and Opportunities for Children Nowadays in Nepal and Their Wide Range of Ideas

Image
Yesterday, I and my wife visited her Uncle’s house at Boudha. My wife was so excited to visit there as we could not visit anywhere for a month. It was Saturday and also Uncle would be at home. Aunt called us in the morning for our visit and we were already planning for that. As we reached there, Uncle, Aunt, and Granny all warmly welcomed us. They really liked our visit there and two kids (11 and 8 years) were so happy.  For me, it was also a different experience to visit her relations after the marriage. I said there were two kids of Uncle and Aunt. Aarambha (11) and Aakriti (8). Aarambha is a die heart fan of cricket who likes to play cricket, see cricket matches and talk about cricket. He has all the things that one needs to play cricket. I can imagine he keeps the things on his pillow while sleeping. Even Aakriti likes to talk about cricket but she plays some other games on a tablet or cell phone. I saw her playing cards in it.   Up to the tim...

Image
Namaste. Yesterday (01-16-2016) we walked to the Malika Primary School, Salang 07, Bhedawari. Some of the young guys accompanied me who is from a local club- named Khun Babu Thapa, Ramchandra Kandel, Bishal Pandey, and my little photographer nephew- Asim Silwal (Bhanjo). It was a long way to ascend but we talked and joked a lot. It did not only made our trip easier but also we shared our personal experiences regarding the development of the village and the process of reconstruction after the earthquake. On the way, we visited Barapani village, where there are only six houses. That village was totally collapsed with the earthquake and I was so happy to help them with the emergency needs that my friends sent. I saw there people were making the places ready to rebuild their houses but just waiting for government assistance. Then we continued to walk uphill with their special gift of sugarcane. Sweating day with sun-warm and uphill trail...try to imagine.       ...
